lich strukturierte Gemeinde. Im Kloster leben seit 1145 Prä-
monstratenser-Chorherren nach der Regel des Heiligen
Augustinus. Im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert wurde das Kloster
nach den Plänen der Baumeisterfamilie Dientzenhofer neu
aufgebaut. Heute ist es, zusammen mit dem historischen
Klosterdorf, ein Kulturgut von europäischer Bedeutung.
Eine große Bereicherung für die ganze Region stellt die im
Jahr 2011 eröffnete
Internationale Begegnungsstätte Kloster
Speinshart
dar. Mit einem vielfältigen Kulturprogramm
belebt sie die nördliche Oberpfalz (nähere Infos dazu

www.kloster-speinshart.de). Speinshart entwickelt sich immer mehr zu
einem Ort der Begegnung, der Kultur und des Glaubens.
Einen Besuch ist außerdem die
Kirche St. Peter und Paul
in
Tremmersdorf, welche auf das späte Mittelalter zurückgeht,
wert.
Eine weitere Attraktion in der Klosterdorfgemeinde ist das
Wurzelmuseum
in Tremmersdorf. Im Wurzelmuseum der
Familie Donhauser sind annähernd 1.000 naturbelassene
Baumwurzeln zu besichtigen, weltweit einmalig. Hier begeg-
nen Sie Tieren wie Enten, Reihern, Adlern, Seehunden,
Bären, Rehen, Elefanten oder einem Koalabären. Auch den
gestiefelten Kater und viele andere spannende Eindrücke
können Sie hier wahrnehmen.

the monastic settlement
Speinshart characte-
rize the small rural municipality. Canons Regular of Prémontré
have been living here under the Rule of St. Augustine since
1145. During the 17th and 18th century, the monastery had
been reestablished according to the plans of the family
of architects Dientzenhofer. Today, it is a cultural asset of Euro-
pean significance together with the historic monastic settlement.
A great enrichment for the whole region is the
international
meeting place “Kloster Speinshart”.
With its multi-
faceted cultural program it vitalizes the Northern Upper
Palatinate (You can find further information and the current

www.kloster-speinshart.de). Speinshart is
flourishing more and more as a place of tourism, culture,
and faith.
The
church of St. Peter and Paul
in Tremmersdorf, which dates
back to the late Middle Ages, is also worth visiting.
The
root museum
in Tremmersdorf is another attraction of
the monastic settlement. In the museum of roots, belonging to
the family Donhauser, you can have a look at the worldwide
unique exhibition covering approximately 1,000 natural tree
roots. You can also see animals like ducks, herons, eagles,
seals, bears, roe deer, elephants and a koala. Even the Puss in
Boots and many others can be discovered in this impressive
place.
